For people who are intrigued and want to learn about Japanese history while watching workers in traditional Kimono serving natural agricultural tea WITH complementary food, then this is for you!

→ Spaces are limited so if you are keen to have this one of a kind experience in Balham, we suggest you book ASAP. Booking closes on November 15th 2024 (Tickets available soon).

About the Tea Ceremony

The Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea (Chanoyu - 茶の湯) , is a Japanese art involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha, powdered green tea, preceded by handcrafted Japanese sweets.

Japanese handcrafted sweets will be offered prior to the presentation of tea ceremony.

In the setting, there will be a hanging calligraphy scroll with a Zen message. The host team will explain the history of the tea ceremony and the meaning of the scroll which has a profound Zen teaching while wearing traditional Japanese Kimono.

You will be served with a bowl of Matcha tea prepared and presented by the host in a 'Mushano Koji Senke' manner.

The Matcha tea used is Natural Agriculture tea (also certified as organic) as we care about maintaining our physical well being.
